Multiband distortion splits the guitar into two or more bands, and distorts each one individually. Unlike conventional single-band distortion, this produces a focused distortion sound without “splatter.” It’s especially well-suited to chords, power chords, and rhythm guitar, which are usually the toughest challenge for conventional amp models. The preset pack includes:
60 Multiband presets (mostly 3-band, with effects) for all current Helix amps. Each of these presets also has eight snapshots, for a total of 480 different sounds: Stereo Preset with FX, Stereo without FX, Mono without FX (ideal for mono pedalboard use), Mute Low Band, Mute Mid Band, Mute High Band, and two Clean (non-distorted) sounds.
60 additional 4-Band presets for all current Helix amps, mostly without effects. These are for advanced users who want to customize 4-band presets. Because four bands takes up a lot of CPU, these are designed more for live performance setups as part of a pedalboard, or with recording setups where you can insert plug-ins before and/or after Helix Native.
These big, bold presets are essential Helix additions. The multiband architecture is truly new and different, and brings out a level of articulation and clarity in all Helix Floor/Rack/Native/LT amps that you’ve never heard before.
